includes several third-party case studies which demonstrate the
usefulness and effectiveness of Biometric technology. Contact us for more
information on how you can leverage the power of Biometric - Fingerpoint technology for the benefit
of your organisation.
Australian Department of Immigration(DIMIA)
The initial driver for DIMIA undertaking
biometric trials was the need to improve the integrity of visa applications, particularly in caseloads vulnerable to
identity fraud. Australia has a proud tradition of using leading-edge technology at its borders and in
May 2004, the Australian Government announced that it would investigate
biometric technology to improve visa processing and combat identity fraud at
border points.

Delivering Secure Access
Control in London City Airport
London City Airport, strategically located in
the heart of the capital’s financial district, is
a convenient airport for the business traveller
looking for direct access to the City.
Like its counterparts in the air travel industry, London
City Airport was forced to reassess its entire security
infrastructure after September 11, 2001.
“Since the tragic events of September 11, 2001,
the safety and security of the world’s civil aviation
system has taken on a greater urgency,” said Richard
Gooding, Managing Director for London City Airport.
“At London City Airport we have focused on
how we can strengthen our security. We faced
immediate challenges in identifying and addressing
security issues, including staffing, control of costs
and efficiency.”
In an effort to enhance its existing security infrastructure,
London City Airport sought to implement an identity
assurance solution that would seamlessly manage
the identities and access rights of its employees across
all physical and IT systems.

Secure Employee Credentialing
Across the US Transportation
System
The US TWIC (Transportation Worker
Identification Credential) Program
achieved Initial Operating Capability
(IOC) in November 2004 at four sites in the
states of Pennsylvania, California and Florida,
with biometrically enabled smart card
credentials.
This groundbreaking program is a first of its
kind because it represents common
credentialing across a very large, diverse
group of people working at land, sea and air
ports throughout the United States.
The US Government’s TWIC Program is
aimed at addressing the security
challenges faced in the transportation
industry through the use of strong
identification and verification technology
capable of proving the identity of
employees.
